Paul in Ephesus

Paul in Ephesus

From Corinth, Paul and his team journeyed to Ephesus. As he entered the city he found some disciples of Jesus and taught them about The Holy Spirit, Baptism, and the mission of Jesus. Paul and these twelve men worked and taught in the city for two years and God did wonderful miracles through Paul. But when some Jewish exorcists tried to copy Paul, they were stripped, beaten, and cast out by the demon-possessed man. After this, a great number of people in Ephesus surrendered their hearts to God and burned their idols and books of sorcery. But the merchants of the city were not happy about this.

Acts 19:17
In our previous episode, we heard how Paul journeyed to Corinth and planted the church in that city amid the sin and debauchery of Corinthian society. Paul remained in Corinth for a year and a half to plant deep roots for the church to stay grounded in truth. It would be a continual battle against the prevailing culture. Today we’ll go with Paul to Ephesus as he plants yet another church after finding twelve individuals who are eager to receive the truth and follow Jesus. We’ll find Paul healing much like Jesus had in His earthly ministry. And we’ll see how God’s purposes prevail even in the face of persecution.
