The Triumphal Entry

The Triumphal Entry

As Jesus was reclining at the house of Mary, Martha, and Lazarus, Mary came up to Him and poured a full bottle of spikenard on His head and feet. The ointment was very expensive and Judas Iscariot was agitated at the waste of money. The next day Jesus expressed his plan to go to Jerusalem. His disciples fetched a donkey for Him and as He approached the city, thousands upon thousands of people worshiped and welcomed Him with praises. He was the King that they were hoping for. But He would rule in a way that none of them expected.

Matthew 21:9
In our last episode, we heard how Jesus brought healing and restoration to two different men who both lived on the outskirts of society. Their encounters with the Son of God changed them forever and opened up a new life for them. Today we’ll hear how Jesus fulfills an ancient prophecy about the Messiah, entering Jerusalem not as a king at war but as one who comes to usher in peace. The enthusiastic crowd caught up in the moment, will worship and praise the man who would soon be led to the cross to die for their sins.
